We believe in Art history and its evolutionary contribution to the development of individual and collective awareness.We hear its echo in Contemporaneity.
The journey continues in the most imperceptible arguments and, at the same time, it is most present in our daily life. Music. Its path, one that leads us to understand Noise, is illuminating. If undertaken in a chronological way this becomes clear and so becomes an all-important element of our sensory understanding. We have some illustrious teachers: Francesco Balilla Pratella, Luigi Russolo, Franco Casavola, and Silvio Mix all teach us through their original writings to hear modernity ... and we have no other choice but TO LISTEN!
“Ancient life was all silence. In the nineteenth century, with the invention of cars, Noise was born” says Luigi Russolo in his “L’arte dei Rumori”, 1913.
The Archive’s aim is to inquire into Futurist Music through four of its main proponents: Francesco Balilla Pratella (Lugo, 1880 – Ravenna, 1955), Luigi Russolo (Portogruaro, 1885 – Laveno Mombello, 1947), Franco Casavola (Modugno, 1891 – Bari, 1955), and Silvio Mix (Trieste, 1900 – Gallarate, 1927). The Archive will include original manifestos, autographic writings, scores, the first editions of books and theoretical essays, correspondence, historical publications and press releases, images, all the available music, the filmography and its posters, and a small library of the necessary inquiries for an understanding of the argument.
Through this substantial selection of historical material it will be possible to follow experimental paths of knowledge and in-depth analysis. In fact all of the documentation will be accessible to those interested through thematic archives, called ARCHIVI SINCRONI which, with their precious content, will treat and fully deal with specific and precise arguments from the last century, from Futurism to Decadentism. The small collections, the result of in-depth study, have the ambitious aim of rediscovering the forgotten or misunderstood sensations of our cultural heritage and the resulting joy.
